Paul Speccot (died 1643) of Penheale in the parish of Egloskerry in Cornwall, was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1626 and 1640. ==Origins== Speccot was the second son of Sir John Speccot (d.1645) of Speccot in the parish of Merton, Devon〔Vivian, Lt.Col. J.L., (Ed.) The Visitation of the County of Devon: Comprising the Heralds' Visitations of 1531, 1564 & 1620, Exeter, 1895, p.707, pedigree of ''Speccot of Thornbury''〕 and of Penheale in Cornwall,〔(National Archives Cornwall Record Office BW/18/1 )〕 Sheriff of Cornwall in 1622, feudal baron of Great Torrington〔Risdon, Tristram (d.1640), Survey of Devon, 1811 edition, London, 1811, with 1810 Additions, p.362〕 in Devon and lord of the manor of Holsworthy in Devon, by his first wife Elizabeth Edgcumbe, daughter of Peter Edgcumbe of Mount Edgcumbe in Cornwall.〔Vivian, p.707〕 His elder brother was Peter Speccot (d.1655) of Thornbury and Speccot, MP for Tregony in Cornwall in 1624.〔Vivian, p.707〕
